BuckeyeMMA has officially launched its latest program, MMA Fitness!
 
Elite MMA fighters are easily among the best athletes in the world. To meet the strenuous demands of the sport, fighters must be as well rounded physically as they are technically. 
 
The MMA athlete has tremendous core strength without unnecessary bulk. He has the power for explosive movements, but also has the lungs to last into the championship rounds. He is quick and agile, yet mentally tough and physically durable.
 
And now YOU can benefit from the same challenging workout routines that have created world champions across the globe.
 
MMA Fitness features bootcamp-style personalized training for those who want to be in world class condition without the 'occupational hazards' that come with getting punched in the face for a living!
 
 
About the Program
 
MMA Fitness is led by BuckeyeMMA Strength & Conditioning coach, Harrison Watkins. 

 
Coach Watkins will first assess your current level of physical fitness. Based on that assessment, he will work with you to strengthen weaker areas while improving overall athletic performance. Workouts will feature time-tested training methods such as olympic power lifting, speed training, and plyometrics, combined with the newest practices in circuit training, interval training, and suspension training, etc.
 
Workouts are sport specific in nature: some sessions will focus on explosive core strength needed for striking, others will utilize drills that help develop coordination/speed/agility, while others still may revolve around improving general endurance and lung capacity.
 
The program is fast paced and intense. There is no wasted time spent roaming the gym aimlessly, trying to figure out what to do next. Coach Watkins will keep you moving and burning calories, all while improving functional strength and everyday performance.
 
 
 
 
 
 
Additional Details

 

*Training sessions are on Monday/Wednesday/Friday from 5pm-6pm. 

*No minimum level of fitness or experience is necessary to participate.

*Students are required to bring their own water bottle/jug.

*Wear suitable workout attire: shorts, tshirt, gym shoes.

*Training sessions are designed to be challenging and fast-paced

*MMA Fitness is a Co-Ed program

*No special equipment is required

About Coach Watkins
 
Harrison Watkins is a graduate of the National Personal Training Institute and has thousands of hours of experience in personal training as well as sport-specific mixed martial arts experience.
 
Coach Watkins specializes in the design of multi-functional personalized programs for performance athletes. His programs feature sport-specific strength & conditioning, neuromuscular training, plyometric training, powerlifting, and the utilization of tools such as resistance bands, kettlebells, suspension training, free weights, and a variety of other exercise methods and equipment.
 
Harrison designs programs that are specialized and tailor-made for each athlete. His routines and methodologies are personalized to meet specific needs. By focusing on each athlete as an individual, and by building programs around their strengths & weaknesses, training proves to be more rewarding and successful in helping them reach his/her full potential.
